Campaign Director

Methodist Retirement Communities, a faith-based East Texas Retirement Community System has an immediate opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to initially serve as a hands-on Campaign Director for our Bryan/College Station community; with the potential opportunity in about 1-2 years for promotion to Development Officer for the entire system, which is based in The Woodlands. Residential Care Director


The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is in search of a candidate for the position of Residential Care Director. ,The Residential Care Director is responsible to the President / CEO for developing, planning, coordinating, maintaining, and administering residential program.  Duties include the supervision of all Residential Coordinators, Family Services Specialist, Emergency Shelter and Therapeutic Care Manager and Clinical Service Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or related Human Services field; Experience in a Residential Group Care facility or related, with increasing levels of responsibility including supervision and/or management; License related to graduate degree preferred; Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include: Develops, monitors and consistently updates residential model of care; Assures highest level of desirable outcomes for Residents and their families; Develops, monitors and manages departmental business plan, including quality assurance and outcomes and processes, staffing plan and budget; Serves as a member of the President’s Council; Provides leadership to professional staff; Organize and make presentations to community, Board of Trustees and other constituents; Coordinates the residential and case management functions of staff to provide maximum benefits with available resources for each Resident; Ensures compliance with FUMCH policies, procedures and rules, accreditation, licensing, and contract standards; Supervisory responsibilities for Residential Coordinators, Family Services Specialist, Emergency Shelter and Therapeutic Care Manager, and Clinical Service Coordinator.

Chaplain

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is in search of a candidate for the position of Chaplain. This position involves the development, maintenance, and supervision of religious life, religious education, and the music program of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home through its Chapel and Chapel related spiritual formation programming.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Divinity Degree from a seminary credited by the United Methodist Church; Be a probationary or full Elder of the United Methodist Church; Be knowledgeable of the needs of children from troubled backgrounds; Degrees in social work and study in related fields will be especially helpful; Substantial experience with youth and youth ministries; Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include: Plans and conducts the campus worship services using age-appropriate styles, including multi-media; Plans and conducts religious education and spiritual formation programs; Gives guidance, planning, and program content to personnel to assure a quality musical program that involves and meets the needs of the Residents; Be a member of the diagnostic and treatment team to help determine the needs and proposed treatment plan for Residents; Develops a religious life program for all areas of residential life and activities; Consults with residential staff in holistic care practices.

Foster Care Coordinators

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is currently seeking applicants for the position of Foster Care Coordinators. The primary role of the Foster Care Coordinators at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is to recruit and retain foster parents. There are two open positions that will be located in Orlando and Tampa, Florida.

Education/Experience Requirements: Masters Degree in Social Work or a related field with a minimum of two years Foster Care experience, and extensive experience in training or supervising foster parents and staff. Certificates/Licenses: Child Protection Professional; Certification; M.A.P.P. Certification; Valid Florida Drivers License. Duties/Responsibilities include: Manage the processes and paperwork associated with licensing, re-licensing and contract compliance; Review and approve licensure and re-licensure packets; Problem solve crisis situations with foster parents/foster children in an efficient and effective manner, on call 24/7; Provide appropriate interventions and referrals to avoid placement disruptions and foster parent burn-out; Recruit and retain foster parents and annually evaluate their suitability and the suitability of their home for foster care placement; Identify and respond to the training, education, and ongoing support needs of our foster parents; License and re-license foster homes based on state requirements and COA standards; Lead MAPP training for potential foster parents. Residential Child Care Specialist

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is currently seeking applicants for the position of Residential Child Care specialist. This position is for a married couple only. The primary role of the Residential Child Care specialists / Houseparents (RCCS) is to oversee the day-to-day care and supervision of the children assigned to their cottage; responsible for monitoring all the aspects of daily cottage life; will be a couple bound in the traditional legal relationship of marriage. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR; ability to work effectively with co-workers; ability to work effectively with youth; high personal values and standards that serve as model for youth; ability to work with the treatment team to make decisions on issues related to the resident/residents in the cottage you are assigned; all applicants must be able to pass a Federal background screen, drug screen, and driving screen.

Executive Director

Boys and Girls Country, Hockley, Texas, is in search of an Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the principal executive and administrative officer, and is responsible for the overall supervision and operation of the mission, fundraising, business affairs, facilities, and the continuity of programs within a therapeutic environment. A minimum of ten years of appropriate and transferable nonprofit experience, preferably in child residential care, is required. A Bachelors Degree is required, and a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field, is preferred. A Child-Care Administrator License from the Texas Department of Human Services is required (the successful candidate may obtain the license upon offer).

DIRECT CARE STAFF

Methodist Youth Services, Inc., has positions available for full-time, part-time, and on-call Direct Care Staff.

Positions are available for individuals experienced in assisting youth with building life skills and developing recreational programs and activities.  Candidates must be experienced working with “at risk” youth that have criminal, delinquent, aggressive, and sexual behavior problems and must be able to set boundaries and use de-escalation techniques when necessary.

High school diploma or G.E.D required.  At least two years of direct experience in a child welfare residential environment.  A valid driver’s license and car insurance is required.
